Pearson BTEC Level 2 Tech Award in Creative Media Production

Course Content - What will you be studying?

Name a business or service that doesn't use media... It’s difficult to find one; we live in a visual world. Businesses and individuals use photography, video, websites and interactive media to communicate every day. Being digitally literate is becoming an essential skill and knowing your way around media will be a huge advantage in your next steps and help you understand the world around you.

This course will give you a fantastic grounding in the world of media. You will cover video and sound production, editing, working in a studio and on location. You can experiment with animation, interactive media, games development and radio production. Some students will choose this course for it’s progression routes into the media industry, others for its transferable skills, which include project management, pitching, idea development, research skills and time management. Whether you want to be a Hollywood director or just want to gain confidence with your presentation skills, this is the course for you.

We have a fantastic range of kit for you to use including DSLR cameras, photographic lighting, a photographic studio, sound recording kit, video cameras, industry standard editing software - you can even borrow some kit to work at home outside of school.
