Course Content - What will you be studying?
Component 1: Exploring Enterprise
Learners will explore different enterprises to develop their knowledge and understanding of the characteristics of enterprises and the skills needed by entrepreneurs to be successful. Learners will explore how enterprises use market research to find out about their customer needs and competitor behaviour and how internal and external factors may affect enterprises.

Markets, sectors, models and industries in which enterprises operate.
Aims and activities of enterprises.

Component 2: Planning and Presenting a Micro-Enterprise Idea
If you are going to succeed as an entrepreneur, you need to have great ideas and plan how you are going to put them into practice. Any enterprise needs to plan how it will succeed through working out how it can harness physical, financial and human resources which means the skills that you and others bring.

The Pearson BTEC Level 1/Level 2 Tech Award in Enterprise has:
- Total Qualification Time: 150 hours.
- Guided Learning Hours: 120 hours.
2 Internal Exams (coursework) (C1 and C2). 1 External Exam (C3).
Component 1 = 30%
Component 2 = 30%
Component 3 = 40%
Who is this course aimed at?
Aimed at students who are interested in business, entrepreneurship and marketing
All students have the capacity to enjoy and engage well. (Mixture of creativity, debating, english writing, mathematics, independence, group work, problem solving etc).

Opportunities for extracurricular and enrichment activities include:
Opportunities to see local businesses and how they might be functioning. Linking with topics of the modules. Etc local businesses may include The Range Headquarters, Wrigleys, Amazon.
Students will be given the opportunity to make a small business idea off of £10. They will use this money to try and compete against other peers in an arranged sales fayre. (School lunchtime market somewhere).
Mini Apprentice show type days. Or extra-curricular events such as Dragons Dens presentations.
Bringing in or online calling of managers / CEOs of local businesses to talk about the challenges they may face in business.
Possible careers opportunities
Opportunities for College, Apprenticeships, and University.
Students will also gain extra knowledge on how to run and manage a business. This could be transferred to their own business ideas, or even family businesses.
