Open to everyone – come and discover what makes our school truly unique.

We are proud to offer a distinctive curriculum that champions creativity, values academic excellence and prepares students for life beyond the classroom.

What sets us apart? Millbay fiercely protects and promotes the arts curriculum, offering a variety of creative subjects alongside core academic subjects, that many schools no longer provide. We know that success in subjects like Maths, English and Science forms the backbone of every student’s future. That’s why we hold academic learning to the highest standard.

Our creative subjects encourage innovation, critical thinking, communication and collaboration; essential skills that feed directly into academic success and are in high demand in today’s world. Whether students go on to university, apprenticeships or straight into employment, we are committed to helping each young person find their path and walk it with confidence.

We have high expectations for all of our students, especially when it comes to attendance, behaviour and personal responsibility. We believe structure and support go hand in hand.

Join us on Saturday 20th September to explore our facilities, meet our passionate staff and hear directly from the students who make Millbay Academy such a vibrant and ambitious community.

Come and see for yourself how we blend creativity with academic rigour to shape confident, capable young people.

This year’s Open Day promises to be our most exciting yet, as we celebrate not only our students and staff but also the growth of our school and community.

As Millbay Academy continues to grow, we’re proud to be preparing for the launch of our new building extensions, which will include 15 brand-new classrooms and dedicated office spaces, a major step forward in expanding our learning environment and opportunities for students.

Join us for a day filled with:

  • Live subject showcases and interactive sessions
  • Activities across all departments
  • Meet our inspiring students and passionate staff
  • Discover our strong partnerships with local industries
  • Performances, creative displays and special surprises throughout the day
  • Delicious food and refreshments available for all guests

Whether you’re exploring secondary school options or just curious to see what makes Millbay special, this is the perfect opportunity to experience it all.

Where can I park?

Due to our central city location, on-site parking is limited. However, public pay-and-display parking is available on surrounding streets. We recommend arriving early to allow plenty of time to find a space.

Millbay Academy is also well connected by public transport, with several local bus routes stopping nearby. You may wish to check local timetables in advance, as public transport could be a more convenient option for your visit.

Do I need to book?

We encourage all visitors to complete our booking form in advance so we can plan accordingly. However, booking is not essential, walk-ins are very welcome and everyone is invited to attend.
