Inspire Young Minds

Being part of our business support network will provide you moments of great satisfaction but striving to make a difference can also be an exciting challenge!

We invite you to make a meaningful impact in our local community by stepping into our school and inspiring our students. Your experiences, expertise, and passion can ignite the aspirations of our future workforce. Whether through engaging talks, hands-on demonstrations, or mentorship programs, your involvement can shape young minds and expose them to the diverse career opportunities within Plymouth and beyond.

By actively participating in our schools, you not only contribute to the development of our students but also foster a stronger connection between businesses and education, creating a brighter future for all. Join us in empowering the next generation to dream big and achieve their goals. Please have a look and see how you can get involved.

Sincerely, Cass Bisco

1. Work Experience and Work-Based Learning Opportunities: One of the most direct ways for employers to contribute is by offering work experience placements for our Y10 students. PAL legislation encourages educational institutions to establish partnerships with local businesses, providing students with hands-on experience and exposure to real-world scenarios. By hosting work experience placements, employers help bridge the gap between academic knowledge and practical skills.

2. Industry Insights and Talks: Employers can also engage with schools by offering industry insights and participating in guest lecture programs. Sharing your experiences, challenges, and success stories can provide students with a deeper understanding of various career paths and industry trends. Please enquire about our Pop-up lunchtime programme if you wish to come in to deliver a talk.

3. Curriculum Development: The new legislation highlights the importance of employer input in curriculum development. Employers can offer valuable insights into the skills and competencies needed in the job market, ensuring that educational programs remain relevant and up-to-date. Could you take over a lesson in school and exemplify how the subject relates to a real world scenario?

4. Mentorship and Career Guidance: Employers can act as mentors, guiding students through career choices, offering advice, and helping them navigate the complexities of the job market. Mentorship fosters meaningful connections between students and professionals, aiding in smoother transitions from education to employment.
