Back with a BANG! Celebrating British Science Week!
What a fantastic week back to Millbay Academy. The Science Department was thrilled to welcome pupils back to school and we had lots of fun during British Science Week. The poster competition was a huge success and there were winners in each year group. This year's theme was 'Innovation for the future' and the pupils really put on their thinking caps for all the activities. Some of the activities included; constructing the biggest structure using marshmallows and spaghetti, making the compound fullerene using straws and tape and topping up the fizzing density column. The pupils were treated to a Chemistry show courtesy of Mr Damarell. The week ended with a fun science quiz for all year groups. Can you guess what is under the electron microscope?
