Magical stories overflowing with detailed description!

Year 3 have planned and written their own magical stories.

Year 3 have been writing detailed settings and creating atmospheres through descriptions. They have planned and written their own magical stories overflowing with detailed description.

We created our own detailed setting in shoe boxes. Our settings shared what “The Place Between” looked like. Flying patterned thread bear carpets, snow white dove fluttering from long sleeves, playing cards floating through the air and even a soft white rabbit who was stuck in “The Place Between” because nobody ever called him back to the stage.

Our plans were developed and edited and we spent time to produce quality handwritten stories that have been paced in our shoe box settings.

Some lovely examples of atmospheric writing from the book: 'Leon and the place between'

Down,

Down,

Down our stories took us. To a place where the magic happens.

The lanterns went out. In the darkness the crowd fidgeted with excitement. There was a cough, a whisper and then A LOUD HUSH. At last a soft, blue glow lit the stage and the curtains twitched.
