Students in EYFS have been immersing themselves into the world of Kandinsky’s art. They have been finding out and talking about him as an artist and what inspired him. Students have most recently been focusing on his concentric circles and how these can inspire their own creations. This has been supporting with students developing and refining their key skills in colour mixing and fine motor control techniques with scissors. Next students will be looking in more depth at Kandinsky’s painting style with an emphasis upon exploring how music and colour can be used to express emotions in painting.

The outcome of students endeavours has resulted in some wonderful examples of concentric circle artwork, highlighting mastery in colour mixing and scissor skills.
