Plymouth College of Art visit with Next Steps South West

Year 11 students were invited to Plymouth College of Art to take part in a Higher Education taster day organised by Next Steps South West. Students took part in silk screen and film workshops and then a student life workshop. Students thought about what student life in Higher Education could look like - from the finances and accommodation to the clubs, courses and people. They then had a tour of the campus and explored subject areas such as Fashion Media and Marketing, Costume Design, Photography, Jewellery Design and Fine Art.

Here’s some of their feedback:

"The thing that impacted me was getting to see all of the facilities and classrooms and how all the students worked."

"It was great! I very much enjoyed the conversation we had with the students, it made me realise some things and in fact it opened some doors. And the tour was amazing."

"The trip was useful in understanding student life at college and different course options. Also helped with nerves surrounding next steps :)"

"This trip was really helpful. It made me think about my college application."

"I learned a lot more about student life and accommodation. And more about the courses, I had a clear view about the college."

"It was very helpful and educational and made me think about what I wanted to do after school. :)"
