Why A Uniform?

  • You can be easily identified as a member of Millbay Academy.

  • It is suitable clothing for the activities in school.

  • Nobody is singled out because they can’t afford the latest fashions.

  • Most jobs have a uniform/dress code that you will have to follow.

Uniform Expectations

Regular Uniform

  • Millbay Academy Uniform Expectations

At Millbay Academy, our uniform reflects our values of professionalism, pride, and unity. All students are expected to wear the correct uniform each day, presenting themselves in a way that shows respect for our school community. Students who do not attend school in the correct uniform will have their parent or carer contacted and the issue will be expected to be resolved promptly by bringing in the correct uniform.

Standard Uniform:

  • Millbay Academy sweatshirt
  • Millbay Academy polo shirt
  • Millbay Academy t-shirt
  • Black cargo trousers
  • All-black trainers or school shoes (no white or coloured logos/soles)
  • Dark grey pleated skirt (knee-length)
  • Millbay Academy Leggings - please do not purchase other black leggings as there are safeguarding concerns related to some leggings being thin and see through (sports leggings are not allowed).


Summer Term Option:

  • Millbay Academy branded PE skirt/skort (Summer Term only)
  • Black cargo shorts only (not tight shorts and no short shorts)


Hair and Personal Expression:

  • Coloured and/or braided hair is welcome and permitted — we celebrate individuality and diversity.

  • Please Note – The Following Are Not Part of Our Uniform:
  • Short shorts
  • Sports leggings with logos
  • Stretchy or skater skirts

  • Clear nail varnish - no false or acrylics
  • Mobile phones must be handed in during tutor time and will be stored securely and given back at the end of the school day
  • Dyed hair
