Options Portal for Students and Parents

Transition to Year 10

Please see below the options process for students going from Year 9 into Year 10.

- Step 1: Read and review all of the subjects on offer (links at the bottom of this page), making a note of the subjects you are most interested in studying

- Step 2: You will be asked to register your preference in order on the Options Preference Form (attend Options Evening to support) Students must choose the subjects they would like to study for Key Stage 4.

The students have four option blocks in their final timetable. However, we request 6 preferences as you may not be able to study all of your choices and so ‘reserve’ or ‘next best’ preferences are required.

Please make sure you choose a different subject for each of your preferences.

- Step 3: Once the Option Preferences window has closed, our Options Blocks will be finalised and you will receive your Options Letter.

We work hard to provide a set of Options Blocks that best meet our students’ preferences. The limiting factors are:

- Timetabling

- Teacher Specialisms

- Numbers of students selecting the course to make it viable
